Verizon Healthcare Contributions

HEALTHCARE CONTRIBUTIONS

WHAT THE COMPANY IS NOT TELLING YOU

Verizon East began Healthcare Contributions at $ 30.00 for employee only, and $60.00 for family monthly.

  • VZ California’s proposal starts Healthcare Contributions at $50.00 for employee and $100.00 for family in 2014, for the Sponsored Plan (PPO), per month, where only 7% of our members are covered!
  •  HealthNet Contributions start at $70.00 for employee and $140.00 for family monthly. That’s 40% more for HealthNet and it cost Verizon 7% less.
  •  EPO Contributions start at $75.00 for employee and $150.00 for family monthly. The member pays 50 % more for the EPO and it costs Verizon only 11% more.
  • Now if you or your dependants use tobacco products, then add an additional $50.00 per month. Plus add an additional $ 8.33 per month if you don’t take Verizon’s invasive healthcare risk assessment.
  • Verizon is proposing a 2% wage increase two weeks after ratification,

NO retroactive wage increase. You won’t receive a 2013 wage increase!

  • Verizon proposes significant increases every year of the contract to ALL Healthcare Options.

If you are an Operator II covered by the EPO, have a dependant and smoke your contributions for 2014 will be $2,549.94 and your added wages for 2014 with the 2% raise at ratification and the 2% raise in March 2014 will be $1,151.64 Even with the signing bonus (which will be taxed at 40%) many members will be going in the wrong direction-financially!
